China Mobile, Telecom Report October User Stats

China Mobile (NYSE:CHL, 0941.HK) added 5.1 million new subscribers in October, bringing its total customers to 513.47 million, the company announced November 20. The company reported that 2.31 million G3 subscribers used its 3G network services in October, up from [url=http://www.jlmpacificepoch.com/newsstories?id=157821_0_5_0_M]1.66 million in September.

China Telecom (NYSE:CHA, 0728.HK) reported a total of 192.93 million fixed-line subscribers by the end of October, after losing 1.46 million during the month, while the carrier's broadband subscriber base grew by 700,000 to 52.15 million at the end of October...

Unicom: 3G ARPU Exceeds RMB 100

China Unicom (NYSE:CHU, 0762.HK, 600050.SH) Chairman Chang Xiaobing said monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) among the operator's 3G user base is over RMB 100, 163.com reported November 18. According to Chang, the average data flow per 3G user is "clearly" above the average 2G user, Chang said.

China Mobile Joins Chang'an to Develop 3G Car

China Mobile (NYSE:CHL,0941.HK) has signed a contract with Chongqing Chang'an Automobile (000625.SZ) to introduce 3G mobile technology in some Chang'an vehicles, reports Chongqing Economic Daily. Within the next two years, care owners may be able to conduct video conference calls and monitor, check on or track their vehicle via remote control, said the report.

Reports in August said that China Telecom's (NYSE:CHA, 0728.HK) Shanghai subsidiary planned to partner with General Motors to begin releasing automobiles with pre-installed EVDO-based information service systems in September.
