China Financial Futures Exchange General Manager Zhu Yuchen said margin trading and stock index future will both be launched mid-April, Shanghai Securities News reported March 20.

According to an unnamed China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) official, the CSRC has approved applications from six securities companies -- namely Guotai Junan Securities, Guosen Securities, CITIC Securities (600030.SH), Everbright Securities (601788.SH) Haitong Securities (600837.SH) and Guangfa Securities (000776.SZ) -- to launch margin trading as soon as the end of March, China Business News reported March 22...

The Shanghai Composite Index inched up 0.3% to close at 3,246.87, while the Shenzhen Composite Index closed 0.3% lower at 1,237.21 on January 19. Trading volume on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges was RMB 162.67 billion and RMB 106.74 billion, respectively.
