CNOOC Acquires Gulf Assets from Norwegian Statoil

China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) (0883.HK) has bought stakes in Norwegian Statoil oilfields in the Gulf of Mexico, including 20% of the Tucker oilfield and a 10% interest in each of Logan, Cobra and Krakatoa fields, National Business Daily reported citing Statoil's third quarter earnings report released November 4. Third party estimates put the value of the deal at around $100 million, the report said.
