Rumor: Tongfang to Build China's Largest LED Base
Beijing-based computer manufacturer Tsinghua Tongfang (600100.SH) plans to establish China's biggest LED industry base with an investment of more than RMB 1 billion and annual output value of RMB 10 billion, reports China Securities Journal quoting an unnamed insider on November 4. The company is currently searching for a location for the project, with a preliminary focus on southern China, according to the insider.
Reports in mid-April said that Tsinghua Tongfang plans to invest RMB 800 million in its LCD module project, which is expected to begin production as soon as May.
