Wistron Expands in Mainland With RMB 3b LCD Zone
Taiwan's Wistron Corporation plans to invest RMB 3 billion to establish an LCD opto-electric industry park in Zhongshan, Guangdong province's Huoju Development Zone, report Sohu citing the company's confirmation on November 2. The park will cover at least 740,000 square meters; its initial, RMB 2.3 billion phase is expected to begin construction on December 20 and finish in June 2010, said the report.
The mainland plant is likely to reduce Wistron's costs and benefit its long-term competition with Hon Hai Group, said the report.
Wistron Corporation set up a branch in Zhongshan's Huoju Development zone with registered capital of $52 million in 2002, according to the company's site.
