China may cancel its requirement that 70% of the components of wind power projects be made within domestic borders, cnr.cn reports from a recent wind power development conference. Chinese wind power equipment is advanced enough to compete on the international market, said the report quoting National Energy Administration Director Zhang Guobao.

Siemens Wind Power is planning to spend RMB 581 million to establish a Siemens Wind Turbine Blades Co., Ltd in order to circumvent the 70% requirement, according to recent reports.
