A-Power to Supply 600MW U.S. Wind Farm

A-Power Energy Generation Systems (Nasdaq:APWR) expects to sign its first export contract for wind power equipment, destined for a 600MW project in Texas, the company announced October 29. A-Power-invested Shenyang Power Group (SPG) has signed a joint venture agreement with US Renewable Energy Group (US-REG) and Cielo Wind Power to develop the 36,000-acre wind farm, the U.S.'s second largest wind power project, for which A-Power will supply wind turbines, the report said. A-Power Chairman and CEO Jinxiang Lu is also CEO of SPG, according to the report.

The project is dependent on $1.5 billion in financing from a Chinese commercial bank, Xinhua reported.
