Gome in Music Copyright Suit
Home appliance and electronics retailer Gome (493.HK), along with DVD player and mobile handset manufacturer Malata, is facing a lawsuit for copyright infringement, chinacourt.org reported July 9. Taiwanese music company Rock Records & Tapes is seeking RMB 1.01 million from the two companies, alleging that Gome used 188 songs without permission in in-store tests of Malata's MDVD£6658 DVD players.
