Kunshan Solar Base to Generate 500MW in 2010
Jiangsu Kunshan New & Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, recently upgraded to a "national" renewable energy base by the Ministry of Science and Technology, is expected to reach annual solar production capacity and value of 500MW and RMB 10 billion, respectively, in 2010, reports Sina and in-en.com. The base will also manufacture 600 1.5MW wind turbine blades per year to bring annual production value to RMB 1 billion by 2010, said the in-en.com report. Established in 2006, the base currently includes 23 renewable energy companies, three with investment exceeding RMB 50 million.
