Google Search Results Follow Baidu As Next Focus Of CCTV Reports
Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) China and other major search sites including China Yahoo and Sohu's (Nasdaq: SOHU) Sogou list links to information on illegal sales of medicine in their sponsored links sections, said a CCTV.com article citing China Central Television's Thursday "Morning News" segment. The news broadcast included images of the Google China search page in a segment that said that many of the sites listed in the sponsored links sections of major search engines have problems.
A CCTV report on November 15 featured a Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) user surnamed Li, who claimed the search company's bid-ranking system allowed a fraudulent hospital to appear at the top of Baidu search results.
