Alibaba.com H1 Profit Rockets 136% To RMB 697.2M
Business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce company Alibaba.com Ltd. (1688.HK) recorded net income of RMB 697.2 million, up 136.2% year-on-year, for the first half of 2008. Revenues were up 47.8% annually to RMB 1.42 billion, including RMB 481.6 million (34%) from the China marketplace. Alibaba.com booked 32.5 million total registered users, including 26.9 million from the China market, while paying users grew 44% to 368,006 Gold Supplier and TrustPass users in the six month period.
