Coolpad: Mainland Shipments, to Expand in Taiwan
Coolpad, a handset brand owned by China Wireless Technologies (2369.HK) subsidiary Yulong Computer Communication Technology, shipped between 3 million and 4 million CDMA handsets in mainland China in 2009, and it plans to release roughly 40 handset models in the mainland in 2010, Sohu reported.
Coolpad plans to increase its purchases of components from Taiwan in 2010, with Hon Hai Group as the largest beneficiary, said company Chairman Guo Deying. Coolpad intends to expand in Taiwan and targets one-third of Taiwan's CDMA market, said the report.
