SNS Game Developer Attracts U.S. Backer

Shanghai-based social networking service (SNS) game developer Kaiying Network received an investment worth several million dollars from U.S. investor Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) in November, cyzone.cn reported January 6 citing Kaiying CEO Wang Yue. According to Wang, the company plans release three new games in 2010. Kaiying's first SNS game product, "Lou Yizhuang" ("One Building"), was first offered on SNS site Facebook in October 2009 and currently has about 7 million players, the report said.

The game is also available on major domestic SNS sites, including Oak Pacific's Renren.com (formerly Xiaonei.com) and Beijing's Kaixin001.com, according to the Kaiying Network site.
