China's "Old-for-New" Subsidy Sales Top RMB 8b

According to China's Ministry of Commerce on November 16, 2.03 million new appliances or electronic products had been sold for a total of roughly RMB 8.02 billion under China's "old-for-new" subsidy program by November 16 in the program's nine trial cities and provinces, reports 163.com.

Of the units sold, 46% or 937,000 were TVs and 324,000 were refrigerators, while washing machines, air conditions and computers accounted for 317,000, 241,000, and 208,000 units respectively.

The program recycled 2.39 million old appliances and electronics in a little over three months, including 1.69 million TVs, 308,000 washing machines, 217,000 refrigerators, 143,000 computers and 33,000 air conditioners.
