H-Shares, Airlines Up; Mingfa IPO Closes Lower

The Hang Seng Index rose 0.7% to close at 22,553.63 on November 13, in main board trading volume of HK$70 billion.

Shares of China Eastern Airlines (0670.HK, NYSE:CEA, 600115.SH) soared 11.2%. China Business News reported that the airline recorded 4.17 million passengers in October, up 17.43% year-on-year, with passenger load factor (PLF) of 75.3%, up 3.22 percentage points year-on-year, reports.

Air China (0753.HK, 601111.SH) grew 5.1% and China Southern Airlines (1055.HK, NYSE:ZNH, 600029.SH) increased 4.58%, as airlines shares retained their momentum from the previous day on Friday, following the National Development and Reform Commission's November 12 announcement that airlines were to begin calculating fuel subcharges based on fuel price.

Shares of real estate developer Mingfa Group (0846.HK) closed at HK$2.15, 10.04% below its issuing price, on Friday, its first day of trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, reports Sina. The company's current land reserves are roughly 10 million square meters, said Mingfa Group Chairman Huang Huanming.
