North China Snows Ground 500 Flights
As of November 11, more than 500 Chinese flights had been affected by heavy snowfall in northern China, with the majority of flights seeing delays, China Business News reported quoting information from Guangzhou-based online travel service provider Et-China (AIM:ETC).
Nearly all northbound flights from southern China were impacted on November 12 and airports in cities including Zhenzhou, Hunan province; Shijiazhuang, Hebei province; Taiyuan, Shanxi province and Lanzhou, Gansu province closed temporarily on the morning of November 12, said the report. More than 110 flights originating in Guangzhou's Baiyun Airport were delayed or canceled, affecting nearly 10,000 people, reports New Express.
Northern China has been battered by severe rain and snow since November 9, Xinmin Evening News reports.
