NY Times Style Magazine to Enter China Market

The New York Times (NYSE:NYT) plans to publish a Chinese version of its style magazine, TMagazine, through a cooperation with Hunan Satellite TV's home shopping and e-commerce subsidiary Happigo, reports xinhuanet.com. The New York Times Vice President of International Editorial Development, Gloria Brown Anderson, has traveled to China to negotiate copyrights, said the report.

Happigo said it intends to take charge of the magazine's development and publishing, while cooperating with The New York Times on copyrights, said the report.

Happigo (www.happigo.com) has recorded more than 2.5 million users and generated revenue of over RMB 5 billion since it was established in 2006, said company Chairman and General Manager Chen Gang.
