China Solar Power Acquires California's ThinSilicon
Thin-film module maker China Solar Power (Holdings) Ltd (CSP) has purchased ThinSilicon, Inc, a Mountain View, California-based developer of thin-film manufacturing process technology, CSP said November 10. China Solar Power did not disclose compensation.
CSP operates one manufacturing facility in Yantai, Shandong province, that is expected to reach full capacity of 32MW in 2010; the company is currently constructing a second manufacturing facility in Jiangyin, Jiangsu province, and has signed development and financing agreements for two additional facilities. Together, the facilities are expected to exceed production capacity of 500MW.
