China Yahoo, VODone Cited as Latest Content Offenders

China Yahoo, online video and advertising company VODone (0082.HK), real estate website Soufun and Beijing-based Internet company Qihoo were among the ten companies cited by the China Internet Illegal Information Reporting Centre (CIIRC) on November 6 as the latest carriers of content that "violates social morals" and "harms the physical and psychological health of young people" on their wireless application protocol sites, people.com reported on November 6.

CIIRC announced its first batch of 19 violating sites, including Baidu (Nasdaq:BIDU), Google (Nasdaq:GOOG[b]) China, Sina (Nasdaq:[b]SINA), Sohu (Nasdaq:SOHU), Tencent (0700.HK) and NetEase (Nasdaq:NTES) in January.
