H-Shares Up 1.63%, Banks, Real Estate Positive
The Hang Seng Index grew 1.63% to close at 21,829.72 on November 6, in main board trading volume of HK$64.43 billion.
Trading in banking stocks showed strong upward pressure, with Bank of Communications (3328.HK) growing 2.5%, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (1398.HK) increasing 1.7%, Bank of China (3988.HK) up 1.6% and Construction Bank of China (0939.HK) up 1.0%.
Shares of TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings (1070.HK) grew 6.7% on rumors that sister company TCL Group (000100.SZ) would build an LCD panel plant in Shenzhen, caijing.com.cn reported. BYD Company (1211.HK) extended yesterday's loss by 1.59%.
Real estate shares also showed continued strength, as China Resources Land (1109.HK) grew 0.8% and China Overseas Land & Investment (0688.HK) rose 2.2%. Newly-listed Guangzhou-based Evergrande Real Estate Group (3333.HK) bucked the trend by posting a 2.6% slide.
