Shanghai Disneyland Whets Interest in Nearby Land
More than 17 companies have joined bidding for a land parcel 3.3 kilometers from the proposed site of a Shanghai Disneyland theme park, National Business News reports. At the time of the report going to press, the price for the plot had risen 58.51% from the Pudong District plot's starting price to RMB 518 billion, the report said. Bidding closes at 11am on November 4, according to the report.
The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) and the Shanghai municipal government had signed a cooperation agreement to build the park in January, according to a report by China Daily.
