Shanda Literature Eyes Silver Screen
Shanda Literature, a division of Shanda (Nasdaq:SNDA) has partnered with two other film companies to produce its first film, "Lian'ai Qian Guize" ("Rules Before Falling In Love"). The film, based on the online novel "Yukongjie Tongju De Rizi" ("My Airhostess Roommate"), is expected to debut in cinemas from November 3, reported TechWeb November 2.
Wu Wenhui, CEO of Shanda Literature-operated website Qidian.com, said that only 5% of the site's registered readers spend money on the site but that it has nevertheless been profitable since 2006, Sohu reports. The number of registered readers of Qiandian.com stands above 10 million, according to the report.
