China Solar Power Founds Shandong Thin-Film Sub

Hong Kong-based thin film solar cell producer China Solar Power (CSP) held a ground-breaking ceremony for an amorphous-silicon (a-Si) thin-film solar cell project in Yantai, Shandong province on October 30 and announced the establishment of Tongyong Photovoltaic (Yantai) Company, solarbe.com reported October 30. CSP will invest a total of $208 million in the 20-hectare project, the report said. After completion, the project will have an annual production capacity of 64MW of cells and generate revenue of RMB 2 billion each year, the report said.
