Rumor: Shanda Invites E.E Media Pres to Head Hurray
According to an unnamed source, Shanda (Nasdaq:SNDA) CEO Chen Tianqiao has asked Danni Long, president of Shanghai-based music and entertainment company E.E Media, to join Hurray Holdings (Nasdaq:HRAY) as CEO, reports Chengdu Economic Daily. E.E Media organizes the popular TV show "Super Girls."
Hurray Holdings, a music production, artist development and wireless value-added services company, announced October 15 that Songzuo Xiang had resigned as CEO for personal reasons and Shanda Executive Vice President Haibin Qu had been appointed acting CEO.
Long has not yet replied to the offer, the insider said. Chen began courting Long in March, before she became president of E.E Media, but "Super Girls" delayed her response, the report said.
Long was not available to comment on the rumor, according to the report, but a Hurray insider confirmed that Chen Tianqiao had offered her the position.
Shanda agreed to purchase a 51% stake in Hurray for roughly $46.2 million in June.
