Oak Pacific to Merge Kaixin, Xiaonei User Bases

Beijing-based online entertainment company Oak Pacific Interactive plans to open its social networking site Renren.com (formerly Xiaonei.com) to users of its online entertainment platform Kaixin.com and vice versa, TechWeb reported September 17. Renren.com account information will be unaffected, the report said.

According to a China Daily report on September 16, Oak Pacific CEO Chen Yizhou said Renren.com is breaking even four years since its inception. The site has nearly 80 million users and the figure is growing by 100,000-200,000 per day, Chen said.

Oak Pacific rebranded its SNS site from "Xiaonei.com" to "Renren.com."
