Haier Forms Rural Distributor Subsidiary

Qingdao-based home appliance manufacturer Haier Electronics Group (1169.HK, 600690.SH) plans to establish a wholly owned subsidiary in Shanghai to expand the sales, logistics and services networks in 3rd and 4th-tier markets. The subsidiary will distribute home appliance products and provide logistics, agency, and post-sale service value-added services.

The company was selected in January to provide subsidized handsets for sale in rural areas.
