Jiangsu province is targeting total photovoltaic power capacity of 400MW within the next three years, reports Modern Express quoting a document released by the Jiangsu provincial government on June 19. The total will include 260MW of rooftop-integrated photovoltaic capacity, 10MW of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) capacity and 130MW of ground-based capacity, the document said.

Photovoltaic power now costs about RMB 2.15/kWh in Jiangsu, while the province's general power prices are currently set at 0.52/kWh, said the report.

The province's new energy plan is expected to bring sales revenue from the Jiangsu new energy industry to RMB 450 billion per year by 2011, including RMB 350 billion from the production of 10GW of solar cells and modules, and RMB 80 billion from the sale of 4GW of wind power equipment.
