Former Microsoft Exec Joins PPLive as Co-CEO
Shanghai-based peer-to-peer streaming media provider PPLive announced Monday that it has appointed former Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT) Online Services executive Dr. C. Vincent Tao as co-CEO of PPLive. Tao will share the position with PPLive founder Yao Xin, who previously served as CEO.
At Microsoft, Tao was responsible for Online Services global product development and business strategy, as well as leading operation and marketing of Virtual Earth and mobile search for the Asia-Pacific Region, according to the report. Tao founded 3D Internet visualization provider GeoTango, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2005.
