Ex-Taobao President Builds Kids Brand
The former president of Alibaba Group's consumer-focused e-commerce site Taobao.com, Sun Tongyu, has spent the last 10 months creating children-oriented brand "Hezi" (box), Southern Metropolitan News reports May 22. The brand's online home, community and media platform hezi.com has been running for more than four months and exceeds 600,000 daily page views, said the report. Sun identified animated movies as being the brand's major profit source.
Sun left Alibaba last March and joined hezi.com operator Zhejiang Bcast Educational Software in May 2008, said the report.
