China Telecom Takes Another Mobile Search Partner

Shanghai-based mobile search provider mInfo announced May 19 that will offer mobile search service to China Telecom's (NYSE:CHA, 728.HK) mobile and PHS users. MInfo service will be released in the second quarter of 2009 and promoted nationwide in the second half of this year. The service will be accessible from the preinstalled menu of certain phone cards or by sending a text message request. Search content will include local life information, weather forecasts and business yellow pages.

Baidu (Nasdaq:BIDU) announced yesterday that it would provide wireless search service to China Telecom's 3G users through a partnership with Telecom's directory information service Best Tone.
