Rumor: Peking University Co to Raise $150M on Nasdaq
An unnamed insider said Beijing Beida Jade Bird Education, an online education company partly owned by Peking University, plans to raise $150 million through a Nasdaq listing in the third quarter, reports Hong Kong's South China Morning Post. Beida Jade Bird Group Brand Director Wu Zhen said that he was unaware of the news, reports 163.com.
The company's total market sales were RMB 1.85 billion in 2007 and grew 20% to RMB 2.14 billion in 2008, Beida Jade Bird IT Education CEO Yang Ming previously said. Beida Jade Bird Group's education subsidiaries include Beida Jade Bird Aptech, Beida Jade Bird IT Education, Beida Jade Bird Online Education, Peking University Resource College and several other schools.
