Canadian Solar to Build 1MW Inner Mongolia Station

Photovoltaic products manufacturer Canadian Solar Inc (Nasdaq:CSIQ) signed an agreement with the local government to establish a 1MW solar power station in Hulun Buir, Inner Mongolia on Monday, reports Gusu Evening Post. The station is expected to cover 30,000 square meters and finish construction in one year, said the report. The base will have capacity to generate 4 million kWh of electricity per year, according to company Assistant to the General Manager Jiang Feng.

Under the agreement, Canadian Solar will also provide 50W small-scale mobile power stations to 100 households in 2009, said the report. The company helped to construct a 30KW solar power station in Inner Mongolia's Ganyuan Forest beginning in June 2003, said the report.
