Jiangsu Plots 260MW Solar Subsidy by 2011

Jiangsu province announced plans at a Renewable Energy Industry Conference on March 26 to subsidize 260MW of solar electricity and reach annual polysilicon production capacity of 30,000 tons by 2011, the official site of meeting participant GCL Silicon Technology Holdings said on Monday. Suntech Power Holdings (NYSE:STP), Trina Solar (NYSE:TSL) and nine other renewable energy companies also attended the conference, which discussed twelve new policies to aid the development of solar, wind and related equipment, said the site. Jiangsu has designated Xuzhou, Yangzhou, and Lianyungang as bases for the province's polysilicon industry, the site said. GCL Silicon has a polysilicon base in Xuzhou.
