China Breaks Ground on Solar Car Project

Wuxi-based diesel and fuel injector systems manufacturer Weifu High-Technology (000581.SZ) broke ground on China's first solar cell project focused exclusively on automobiles in Guan, Hebei province on March 22, reports Solarbe.com. The project received investment of RMB 500 million and is expected to produce 100MW of solar cells and modules, as well as 2,000 solar-powered cars, after it begins production in late 2009, said the report.
