Google (Nasdaq:GOOG) China recently spent $1 million to purchase domain name baobei.com and plans to release a consumer-to-consumer e-commerce platform on the site after the domain's current agreement expires on April 19, 2009, reports Sohu quoting an unnamed insider. Google China purchased baobei.com from Florida-based domain name trader Moniker, said the report. A Google China marketing director had no comment, the report said. Baobei can be translated as "treasure," "baby" or "honey" in Chinese.
