Sohu Sued For RMB 1.23M By Shanda Literature Site Operator

Sohu (Nasdaq: SOHU) was sued for RMB 1.23 million for copyright infringement by Xuanting Entertainment, the Shanghai-based operator of Shanda (Nasdaq: SNDA) literature site Qidian.com, in the Beijing Haidian District People's Court, reports Chinacourt.org. Xuanting Entertainment claims that it is the sole online publisher for ten of Qidian.com's novels, including the "Gui Chui Deng" series, and Sohu uploaded the novels to its mobile site (wap.sohu.com) without permission.
