Intel Capital Invests $12M In SMG Subsidiary

Intel's (Nasdaq: INTC) investment program Intel Capital has invested $12 million in SMG broadband subsidiary SMGBB, reports Sina. According to the report, the investment will go towards promotion and development of broadband network TV technology. Smgbb.cn is rumored to have received an online broadcasting license from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT).

Intel Capital's new $500 million fund has already invested in Shanda's (Nasdaq: SNDA) online game platform China Games Alliance (Holdfast) and Beijing-based Newauto Video Technology Inc.
